Venturesome
There may be times when a charity has plans to develop, or
needs bridging finance. Its requirements may be too risky for a
bank loan or outside the criteria of a grantmaker.

That's where our Venturesome team may be able to help. We offer
mezzanine finance – loans and investment support that fill the gap
between grants and bank loans – to charities and other social
enterprises.
We aim to make money work hard by supporting a charity and then
recycling the funds to use again.
We are funded by grantmaking trusts and private
individuals. We also play an active role in developing
the social investment market.
As a charity, we work with you to understand your finances
and provide custom-built funding to support your work. We are
not grantmakers and we anticipate that the money we
loan will be repaid over time.
Our support might take the form of underwriting, unsecured loans
or equity-type investments.
